Aim

OpenSeaMap will follow the IHO-Standard for ECDIS for ENC and iENC (S-57, S-32, S-52),
added by a routable base map of OpenStreetMap with searchable objects in several layers,
and the shallow water depths and mountain contours (at least along the coastline).

Therefore we need charts which can be rendered on nautical chart plotters (Garmin, Raymarine, etc)
as well as on tablets (Android, iOS, Windows), and a fast rendering engine, ideally working cross-platform.

We need a small preprocessed data format.
May be we need a speedy combination of raster and vector charts.
