NMEA-OneNet is a Ethernet standard.
- to be released at the end of 2015
- will mandate the use of IPv6 as its network layer.
- will include the specification of an NMEA2000/OneNet bidirectional gateway.
All of the major marine equipment manufacturers are represented on the working group.
Goals
- transport NMEA-2000 messages on Ethernet in a standardised manner
- complement and interoperate with NMEA 2000
- establish standardised gateway rules between NMEA-2000 and NMEA-OneNet
- support high bandwidth applications such as video data transport
